The Taxman Cometh Review

This is another interesting episode which is intricate because the initial death brings out a much bigger racket going on. This is wealthy relatives of patients with cancer picking their cancer treatment to accord with the latest tax loopholes so that the heirs will lawfully evade substantial estate taxes. In short, the patient must die at a time which fits with IRS regs. One quack doctor with a host of unproven "treatments" is their logical choice when they want to make sure nothing works on the patient. Our team goes about exposing this racket. This was a pretty interesting episode, especially for anyone who has had cancer, such as myself. You barely know who to trust in the quagmire of medicine as it exists validly without this rip off being cast into your treatment.

This is one of the last shows of this venerable long running show. It ends with this season and a twenty year run. I think the shows have remained fairly interesting with good scripts but the cast is lacking that vital spark. What is especially missing is Jack McCoy in his prosecuting prime and Lenny Briscoe in his wise cracking police prime.

There will be a new version set in LA but I think the success of that show will strictly depend on the charisma of the cast which is put together and not whether the series is set in LA or New York.Get more detail about The Taxman Cometh.
