And so is watching it on VoD. The fact that I can watch this on my PC, my Xbox, and my Bluray player absolutely makes it the best way to watch it. (Apparently it has support for mobile devices as well, although I don't believe my Zune is supported)

The show itself is fun, witty, and generally entertaining. As far as comedies go, it's probably my favorite on television right now. (Who knew CBS could put out a decent show?) The characters are lovable (sometimes I hate Lily), and the story is engaging. (WHO IS THEIR MOTHER? HOW DID THEY MEET?)

One other thing, I just realized you can watch it on the site as well! Amazing. (Why isn't this on Hulu? Probably so people can buy it on Amazon)

My ONLY qualm is that the quality of the first few seasons (including this one) are lacking. Obviously that's because of budget concerns on the show's end, so I won't dock a star.

This is an excellent show that is actually based on a true character, Paul Ekman. I'm pretty sure it's mainly fiction but still close to reality. I think that if I had to work a different job to the one I have now, it would be a "deception expert". I am an avid "Highly Addicted" fan of "Sons Of Anarchy". Staying glued to my Tv set every week, I was able to see every episode "Season Two". I recommend an AAAA+++++++++ 100%
It was recommended I watch "Season One" which I recently purchased. Sat down and watched all 4 DVD's, could not break away! It was awesome to say the least, never a dull moment. This show was so bad I couldn't be bothered to sit through my free episode.
The female protagonist is crabby, impulsive woman who seems to feel that she is above laws or protocol.

She and her partner ignore orders from their boss but apparently avoid being fired by holding their cell phones out the window and pretending they can't hear.
They take one witness to the site of the murder of another witness.
All this within the 1st 10 or so minutes of the show.

Save Pilot

The show is entertaining and addictive. The interaction of the characters is what makes this show a must see. The two lead characters work together to solve white collar crimes, one is FBI, the other is former (or maybe still practicing) criminal on a work release. There is a light touch of comedy in their communications with each other. They both work well together and are learning the perspective of the 'other side' from each other as they solve the crime. Both characters have appeal. Neal easily stretches the rules to get what he wants, Peter goes by the rules. But you can see Peter working on Neal to keep things legal, and Neal's pushing Peter towards the boundary edge of the rules. Peter is likable, very clever, by the book, knows a lot about Neal and is good at figuring out what Neal is up to. Neal is clever and has his own agenda that he conceals from Peter (or does he?), which is part of a story arc mystery for the first season. These two, Neal and Peter, respect each other, and work as partners, but the game is on between them. You are also treated to gorgeous shots of New York that make a beautiful backdrop when these guys go outside. I watched the first five episodes so far (and rewatched the episodes too) and look forward to the next ones because its that good.Get more detail about Pilot.

I've watched parts of the show though the cable companies Free "On Demand HBO" and wanted to check it out form the begining.

I've got a Roku and this would have been a great way to BUY the series NOT rent.

Guess it's back to Showtime and Sci-Fi Channel's stuff ... they are buy, not rent.

Pilot Right now

This is a review of the whole season, not just one episode.

This show is promising. In its present rendition, it comes in more like 3.5 stars but with some added punch and oomph to its storyline, it could easily climb to 4 stars.

The premise is that Hank, an excellent emergency room doctor, ends up employed as a concierge doctor in the Hamptons. He pays house calls in emergency situations, usually to people who do not want the publicity of checking into a hospital.

Hank's brother, an accountant, manages him. His brother is far more into the Hampton's lifestyle than Hank himself is. He is more comic than Hank because he is always sticking his foot into it.

The most interesting aspect of the show so far is the medical one. Each week some new case presents itself and Hank must fix the patient under less than ideal circumstances. It is interesting to me that some people are more interested in how they might appear in gossip columns than in saving their lives in emergency situations.

Lots of Americans grew up in family businesses. I was one of them and I think running your own business does build a certain kind of insanity through the family. No one epitomizes this better than the beleaguered Bluth family. Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) is that one sane one whereas his mother, his brothers, his sister, et al, swirl around him pursuing their own best interests (never anyone else's best interests and certainly not the family business's best interest). Ron Howard who produced the show also narrates it and does a wonderful job of it. The business is tanking in the wake of the senior Bluth's (the pater familias) financial wrongdoing within the firm.

The biggest discovery for me on this show was Michael's lothario older brother played by Will Arnett. I have been tuning in Will Arnett ever since this show and he is funny in everything I see. I had never seen him before this show. Most recently I saw him vie with Alec Baldwin's Jack on 30 ROCK for NBC's CEO position. He played a gay corporate type to perfection.

I loved Jeffrey Tambor on LARRY SANDERS so was glad to see him playing the pater familias and his twin brother Oscar. Tambor always brings a level of inept smarminess to his semi villainous characters. They don't ever quite make it to being villains because he is always shooting himself in the foot as he tries to pull off a nefarious act. His character is in prison in this series and he is particularly self absorbed yet bumbling from there. if the father is smarmy, the mother, played by Jessica Walter, is the ultimate as the matriarch with a thousand schemes afoot, all to promote her own best interests. She takes manipulative to a whole new level.

Portia DeRossi plays Michael's greedy twin sister. She is good but it is her sexually waffling husband (David Cross) who is the character to watch. One of his many baffling but hilarious acts is to leave his career as a psychiatrist to become an actor.

This was a very funny show which I totally enjoyed. HBO did it again, of course.

Chuck is a truly fun and wonderfully funny show about spies and slap-stick comedy, with the faintest hint of romance.

For those that are drawn to shows for their music, you will not be let down if you like quirky modern music. It has lots of great stuff from Iggy Pop to Beck, with great thematic contributions from Cake and Teddybears. He was born without conscience, but was taught by his Dad how to fit in and when and where to show appropriate emotions. I mean, what's not to love about this. I love this show but there is a MAJOR issue with the VOD episodes - the music has been changed! All the wonderful classic rock songs have been replaced with awful random songs that completely ruin the atmosphere of the show.

There is no warning that the music has been changed - I was completely unaware of the substitutions until I actually watched an episode. I think it is completely unethical of Amazon not to warn its customers that these episodes do not contain the same music as the broadcast and DVD versions. I watched the Pilot some time ago and then forgot about the show. For some reason this week, I started watching it again, then had to buy Season 1. I am not sure why I liked it so much. Some of it reminds me why I left the nursing field. Some of it is totally unrealistic. I never worked in a place where so many narcotics could have gone missing, however I was always in a small town hospital or nursing home, so I have no idea about the big hospitals. I do know lots of nurses are in NA and AA. But there are lots of pharmacists, mailmen, store clerks, ordinary people also. Realistically those people get the meds somehow. Its a TV show, I never watch reality TV, so why do I want this show to be reality anyway? I don't! I could totally see Jackie as a human being working in a hospital in New York. I spent 360 minutes in another world like I rarely find. I think this was money well spent, and look forward to Season 2. I love the characters, the layers. My favorite is the new nurse, and her idealistic view of how nursing should be, in such contrast to Jackie. There is enough of this show based in reality to provide suspension of disbelief for the whole 3o minutes. I could go on for hours, but I think instead I will go watch Season 1 again, until 2 is available.

Most Pilots have problems with characters that are too broadly drawn, settings that are too generic, and and an overall "cheap" feeling. Not so with Bones. From the few episodes I've seen from the following seasons, I can tell the characters are still themselves as portrayed in this first episode. The setting is strong, making you believe these people work and live in the portrayed world, from giving glimpses of their daily lives to showing an interesting and believable work environment. The only time I was drawn out of the show through noticing a sense of staging was in one scene in a car, in which it was obvious that the background was a film.

I wanted to know more about these people and what they would do next. I laughed out loud a few times, and was suitably drawn into the serious nature of the plot. Even one-shot characters, those we will never see in any other episode, were well portrayed and interesting. I wanted to know more about the "stalker"; was he crazy, not good socially, a killer, a sweetheart of a guy, what?

If you like crime scene/investigative shows, this is for you. If you like shows with interesting characters, humor, and intriguing relationships, this is for you.
