I remember watching this movie on HBO back in the 80's. They played it so often. Seems like every time I cut school for the day, Flash Gordon was saving the Universe. I bought it and played it for family movie night for my kids. They liked it once I explained that it was suppose to be "corny". Very colorful costumes and scenery. Kinda "Wizard of Oz" ish.
